I honestly don't know why some people can see them and some can't. Complain to DW?
What I can tell you is - the only way I can upload photos is via "copy image location" from either Facebook or Google. It's easier now - because FB usually had Save Picture As - which doesn't work. But now, has copy image location. If you click on upload image or copy image - it won't upload. Live journal allowed me to upload directly from my computer or Google docs. Dreamwidth requires copy image location, or you have to pay a lot of money and put it in Flicker or Photobucket - which charge now. For a long time, I stopped bothering with posting photos because it was a)time consuming, and b) I couldn't remember all the steps - you'd have to upload in Google, go to Goggle, click something, then something else, and finally get copy image location. It was a nightmare. Now - I can copy image location directly from FB and ignore the whole Google nightmare and most of my flist can see them.

If you can't? Complain to Dreamwidth about their horrid image upload system.

What these photos prove is that there wasn't that many people at Greenwood Cemetery today and the idiots on the Kensington FaceBook Page telling people that they shouldn't go unless they are visiting their mother's graves - because it was too crowded are wrong. Actually, there's a huge misconception that the cemetery is just a cemetery like any other cemetery - it's not, it's a National Historic Landmark and a park, which has tours, walking and otherwise. And has extended its times so people can stroll. Not to mention it's landscaping - it has turtle ponds. [I restrained myself from ripping these folks a new one on FB - because no good ever comes of correcting folks on social media. I'm not going to change their mind - it's very hard to change people's minds about anything on social media.]

Dreamwidth's coding apparently is entering your picture links as cuts, not regular URLs. That's why they open up when I (or presumably others) click on them, just as it would open a text cut that you couldn't read until you clicked on it.

If someone clicks on them and the pictures don't appear, the only thing I can think of is that they aren't logged in-- which I tried, and had no problems. Have you posted any pictures to posts that were flocked, instead of public?

I am currently running Windows 7 Pro (basically the business version of 7. It was supposed to be updated to 10 earlier this year by the friend who builds and maintains my computers, but the virus intervened, so he's not visiting me in my home anytime soon for the obvious reasons).

So, can't speak for Mac users, although I don't see why that would make any difference. But, who knows? Mac users are welcome to chime in!

You can upload to DW directly, but it is a clunky system at best, and for the last three weeks for unknown reasons uploading has been extremely undependable. I get by with just the toons each day, but until they fix whatever the cause of the malfunctions are, I'd never recc it for any serious photo posting.

I can see the pictures just fine. It's a beautiful place for walking.

Pictures are working fine for me.

I walked away from correcting people on Facebook the other day - that was a lot of people saying our Covid-19 cases had stayed at the same level since 3rd April and not dipped any. They were missing the point that comparing figures now with 3rd April isn't really comparing like for like because on 3rd April they were only testing people in hospital, while the same figure today would also include over 65s, those in care homes and key workers, and if the testing criteria had been consistent throughout that time period the graph could have looked quite different. But I didn't think I would achieve anything arguing.
