[Tend to avoid doing this sort of thing in my blogs, but I promised people I'd spread the word last night and it is for a good cause.]

If you happen to be in the New York City area, specifically Brooklyn Heights, just two-three blocks from the promenade which overlooks the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan, come hear Ugandan Gay Activist, Rev. Mark Kiyimba, tell his story of building a protest movement.

Rev. Kiyimba will be preaching at 11:00 AM at First Unitarian Congregational Society, 48 Monroe Place, corner of Pierrepont Street. This will be followed by a Q & A Session at 1:00 in the Frances White Room, downstairs, which is open to the Public. All are welcome to both events.

Rev. Kiyimba is the founder of a Unitarian Church in Kampala that runs a school and orphanage for 500 children with HIV and/or whose parents have died of AIDS.

Following the passage of Anti-Gay Legislation In Uganda, Rev. Mark Kiyimba, at great personal risk, mobilized Ugandans to support LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) rights. The Bill was spearheaded and funded by American Evangelists, specifically during an Anti-Gay Conference in 2009 lead by Anti-Gay Activist and Evangelist Scott Lively.

In October of 2010, not long after the legislation was proposed a an Ugandan magazine tabloid "Rolling Stone" (no association with the US magazine) listed Rev. Kiyimba's name and home address as well as a photograph of him as a LGBT activist exhorting readers "Hang Them: They are After Our Kids". Rev. Kiyimba was forced to flee Kampala and is now a refugee touring the US to spread his message.

Rev. Kiyimba will be at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Brooklyn at 11 am Worship Service, and later at 1pm to answer a Q&A session in the Francis White Room. All are Welcome.
