1. Once Upon a Time - this is a show that I admittedly watch more with my heart than my head.

The characters are attempting to figure out what Zelena's (aka Wicked) weakness is.

Regina: If we could only figure out her weakness.
Snow: We'd be able to defeat her.
Charming: I bet we knew and that's why the curse happened.
Me: WATER! Hello! Hasn't anyone read the Wizard of OZ???
Emma: We need to get your memories back right quick.
Me: Apparently not. Come on - at least the movie??

In the flashback to FTL, Snow and Charming go visit Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, who has been exiled to the North of the Enchanted Forest and currently appears to be doing time as the Snow Queen. Regina tries, but alas, she still has too much vengeance clouding her heart to pass muster. They find out from Glinda that to defeat Wicked they need to remove her pendant which controls and houses her power. (Okay maybe they changed the story??? I thought it was her broom and water.)

Turns out that the power of light or light magic created from love defeats Wicked.
Which is Emma's magic.

All excited they realize, whoops, small problem - no Emma. So they have to find a way to get to Emma so she can defeat Wicked and save Charming and Snow's kid.
The only way to do it is to re-enact the curse. But that means they have to sacrifice the heart of the person or thing they love most. Regina can't - because that would be Henry, who is with Emma - and well counter-productive. That leaves Snow, who has to sacrifice Charming's heart. Being the hero - Charming willingly complies. They enact the curse, but Wicked throws in a forgetting spell - so they won't remember anything, giving Wicked the advantage.

Meanwhile back in Storybrook - they manage to get Henry to remember. But alas, it doesn't break the curse. Wicked tries to kill Henry - in order to punish Hook for not kissing Emma and removing her powers. (Am rather glad Hook didn't kiss Emma and remove her powers - because that would have been frustrating.

Zelena: Why haven't you kissed Emma yet like I told you??
Hook: I'm not easy, I have to be courted.)

Emma uses her light magic and foils Zelena. Then Regina kisses Henry and breaks the curse.

Emma: So do you remember now?
Regina: Oh yes.
Emma: Who cursed you?
Snow, Charming, and Regina: We did.
Emma: Wait - you cursed yourselves? Why? And I don't understand - how is it that you are all here - shouldn't a heart have been sacrificed?

Regina, it turns out, with a lot of convincing by Snow, removes Snow's heart, rips it in two and places half of it in Charming - so that now they share the same heart.
Lovely romantic metaphor. Plus it shows how much Regina has changed. Because she was able to do that - to see past her vengeance to ensure that Charming and Snow had one another and aid in their quest to save their child, Regina is reunited with Henry and her kiss breaks the curse. She's also able to fall in love with Robin Hood.

Charming: Who sent Hook the memory potion for Emma?
Emma: I though you guys did?
Hook: I got the note.
Emma: I clearly can't trust you - you were probably working with Zelena all along.
Hook: Wait, just a minute here, I didn't kiss you. And I attempted to protect your kid -
Emma: By kidnapping him?
Hook: It wasn't kidnapping - I was taking him someplace safe away from Zelena.
Emma: So who gave you the potion then and the note?
Hook: I don't know...

We flashback to Zelena making the potion so that she and Rumple can remember. But Neal prevents Rumple from taking the potion and sends it off to Hook to give to Emma. With a note stating that her family is in danger. He doesn't have time to write more. Yay, Neal. Also bright move sending the note to Hook. I sort of figured it was Neal who sent Hook after Emma, made the most sense.

Show stays fairly unpredictable with lots of fun twists and turns. Still waiting for everyone to figure out that Wicked's weakness is water.

2. Been watching The 100 - two episodes in, it's definitely compelling. Sort of Dangerous Island or Earth 2 meets Battle Star Galatica by way of Lord of the Flies. Yes, it's cheesy in places, academics (and/or intellectuals) need not apply. There's the typical sci-survival tropes. And I've spent the last two episodes telling the characters on the tv set to shoot Bellamy and Kane, and some mean kid who is Bellamy's second, and whose name I forget. They are too annoying to live, but I think I'm supposed to hate them at the moment. With any luck the writers will develop them a bit and flush them out - so I'll stop rooting for someone to shoot them. Wells saves Bellamy's life in the second episode, no clue why, I'd have shot him in the head. But that's just me.

That said it has potential and is compelling. Rather love the mechanic character, they better not kill her off. Also love Dr. Abby Griffin (Clark's Mother), played by Paige Turco. (You know you are old when the parents are your age, and the kids look like 20 year olds.) I was warned that they killed someone off after three episodes, a popular character, so I'm currently laying bets on who it is and trying not to get too attached to anyone. Right now, my money is on Finn. That would hurt Clark and free her up for Wells and Bellamy to fight over, because you just know that's the direction we're headed. Hoping it's not any of the adults - we don't have that many to begin with - and I love the adult characters.

The teen story right now seems to be more romance based than action based, but that may change. Oh there's action - but there's an undue amount of emphasis on romance, which is hard to buy at this point in the game. Of course once you get past the premise that the leaders of a dying space station sent 100 juvenile delinquents to test out the planet to see if it is currently habitable after 97 years orbiting it in a space station, as opposed to a team of scientists with direct communication...
What's the first thing the juvenile delinquents do upon reaching the surface? Remove the wrist-bands that the adults told them to keep on at all costs. The wrist bands that are monitoring their vital organs and letting the adults know if they can survive on the surface. And it takes the adults an insanely long amount of time to figure out that no, they didn't die, they just removed their wrist bands. LOL! I mean seriously the kids were in prison, why would they want the adults to know how well they are doing?

That's the cheesy bit. This is one of those stories that it is best to watch with your heart not your brain. Or let your brain make snarky comments at.

I'm enjoying it actually. It's fun, suspenseful, and I care about the characters. Which is more than I could say for Resurrection or Turn.

3. The Good Wife was hilarious. Particularly the bits concerning ADA Finn, who I felt sorry for. That poor guy...he just can't catch a break.
