I'd be flattered if you friend me (and will return the favor), though as you can see I don't use lj at all.
I thought the AV club reviews were good. Noel clearly liked the show, and most of the commenters did too. It's a good entry for someone new to Buffy and its fans. It's pretty amazing that so many people can love the show for wildly different (and sometimes mutually inconsistent) reasons.
