Were the Orc bits In the books? I know the flashback was, but the guy with a grudge against Thorin was killed in the flashback sequence, while here he lives on to pursue the dwarves?
For some reason I have no memory of the rock giants, but apparently whomever wrote the wiki entry doesn't either. Somewhat reassuring that.;-)
