I hadn't gotten around to listening to it until seeing your post just now. The song sounds right--I might download it, too, it's got the right tone for this season. The video, though... I had seen a story about how they had done this, and was expecting something much more seamless and convincing. This is mostly very obviously composited (I teach video, so it jumps out at me starkly). I suppose if I had gone into it expecting just a collage of past and present Beatles images, it would have seemed more appropriate. It was actually kind of detrimental to my enjoyment of the song at first, but when I looked away and just listened, the music works.
I once took a whole semester's course in college on the Beatles, so I have an appreciation for them. They crafted wonderful songs, and were solid instrumentalists and singers. It kind of saddens me (or it did) when I'd see people on social media waving them off, calling them talentless, saying their music isn't any good. But people often don't know how to express "this doesn't interest me" without resorting to a thoughtless "this sucks". As usual, it seems to be a matter of people going to extremes: the Beatles were not musical gods, nor were they boring and talentless hacks.
