Jan. 18th, 2023 10:08 pm1. As a result of Peaky Blinders, Mother and I have become Cillian (pronounce Killian - hard on the C) Murphy fans.
Me: He's a long established character actor who can play anything.
Mother: He should be the lead - he's mesmerizing.
Me: I know. I started to watch Peaky Blinders for Sam Neil, and then forgot all about Sam Neil.
Mother: You can't take your eyes off Murphy.
Now I'm looking for other things that he's been in. And there's a lot. Also he's top tier enough - he wisely keeps his private life private. Also he was in a band - Sons of Green Genes - which was about to get a five album deal, but he chose to pursue acting instead.
He's an excellent actor - gets across volumes by saying nothing. That's hard to do well.
Also, he managed to play a sociopathic killer, a gangster, a trans-woman, a Irish doctor, Scarecrow in Batman, and various other character roles - even though he has the looks and charisma of a leading man. He's like Christian Bale and Tom Hardy - he disappears into his roles.
2. I may have to go back to Only Murders in the Building and finish S1 - S2, in prep for S3 (which has Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd in the cast). I'll do it after I finish Peaky Blinders.
I have a very long television queue. Also I'm moody, so I have to be in the right mood for stuff.
3. Today, I had fantasies of creating a sunflower needlework pattern and doing the picture completely with needlepoint. I realized this was silly. I should try just painting it first with watercolors - I know how to use watercolors.
Also, as Mother reminded me, I suck at crafty things like needlepoint and embrodery - because I can't count to save my life or for that matter measure. My mind skips over numbers. My counting goes like this ...1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10,...wait, oh, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12...damn. 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9, 10,11,12,14,15,17,18, 19, 20..sigh.

It's why exercising with counting has always been an issue. Also, why I can't really crochet or knit. I have tricks, but they don't always work. Also counting sheep - more trouble than it's worth.
I did however, successfully print off photos of the sunflower at work, from various angles and perspectives. Also printed off the photo of my niece and the cats - which I love, but I'm not attempting to paint that - too difficult.
