Oct. 1st, 2011 01:58 pmBit of an overcast day but no rain so far. Still loads on the DVR, which I haven't gotten around to watching yet: Supernatural,
Nikita, A Gifted Man, Prime Suspect, Fringe (S4 - I want to finish S2-3 first, am bogged down in S2 at the moment), and something else that I can't remember the name of but know is there. I do this, just DVR anything that looks remotely interesting and slowy weed through them. Although I did not DVR Hart of Dixie, and I did delete Unforgettable before watching it. So not doing all the new season tv shows. Nor am I purchasing Showtime just to see Dexter and Homeland - I can rent them. Granted at the moment Showtime appears to have more tv shows on it that I'd watch than HBO...with Nurse Jackie, Weeds, Homeland and Dexter...while there's nothing on HBO right now that appeals to me. Which begs the question, why'd I get HBO again? Oh right, Game of Thrones and True Blood, also the promise of American Gods, Luck, and Game Change coming next year.
Got to take off soon.
Saw Secret Circle and Vamp Diaries last night, Vamp Diaries is more entertaining but it admittedly wasn't to start. And what's keeping me interested in Secret Circle isn't the kids hijinks, but what their parents did all those years ago - which resulted in 1)the remaining parents being stripped of their powers, 2) each kid losing one or both parents, 3) the town outlawing witch-craft, and 4) two of the parents encouraging the circle to form with the kids (without telling the kids) for some reason or other.
Very curious about the parents. Hope the show stays on the air long enough to tell me. Most likely will out live Ringer - it got higher ratings. (3 million to Ringer's 2 million.)
Also watched Big Bang Theory and Raising Hope. Found Raising Hope to be really comforting this week. It's central theme was a good one - "don't wast your time comparing yourself and/or competing with other people, you will drive yourself crazy. Everyone has skills that are better and worse than yours. Don't focus too much on it." Raising Hope and Big Bang are my comfort comedies...something about the characters just resonates with me and makes me laugh.
