Interesting...this happens a lot in workplaces, where they try to get someone to do the work of two people but at no greater pay. Saves them money, but burns out a good employee - who they end up losing.
Sounds like your work history was fairly pleasant and had rather easy transitions, that's rare. You're lucky.
